3rd Grade Behavior Program and Classroom Management
We have no discipline problems in this classroom.
Our classroom rules are…
1. The "Golden Rule" - Treat others the way you want to be treated.
2. Respect personal, classroom and peer property.
3. Follow directions.
4. Be prepared to learn.
5. Do your personal best.
Rewards for following the rules include…
1. Verbal or written praise
2. Respect from peers, adults and self
3. Class tickets to use in our store
4. Friday Fun
5. Class Parties and Special Events
I use a clip chart system. Each student begins the week fresh in the "blue." They can earn 6 tickets if they finish the week still in the "blue." The system works as follows...
BLUE = (awesome behavior) = 6 tickets YAY!
YELLOW (first warning) = 4 tickets and a brief student/teacher “chat” to discuss behavior.
ORANGE (second warning) = 2 tickets and another brief student/teacher “chat” to discuss behavior.
RED = No tickets and loss of participation in Friday Fun. A behavior report will be sent home with details and will need to be returned, signed by a parent.
No news is good news! If your child isn't bringing home a behavior report, they are doing great!
If inappropriate behavior continues to be an issue, a meeting will be set up with the principal and parents.
*Fighting, blatant disrespect, or unsafe behavior will result in immediate referral to the principal’s office.
